Sweet Goodbye Maya Angelou (1928-2014)

It takes a lifetime to build a reputation and a single stone to destroy it. Therefore, it takes consistency, hard work, and passion to build a brand image and maintain it over time. Maya Angelou’s life describes this essence. Indeed, Maya through her writings and her speeches, was a source of daily inspiration for women especially and human beings in general all around the world. She was a fierce defender of the Black People cause and she encouraged her brothers and sisters to take control of their lives.

Sadly, I have not yet been able to discover and appreciate her writings. So many times, I postponed the purchase of one of her books. I always felt like I had the time to discover her. Since yesterday 28 May 2014, she has closed her eyes forever and I now believe that I failed to pay her appropriate respect.

Therefore, I officially take the stand to read one or several of her publications in the next months. I will then be able to share my own personal experience with Maya, on this platform.

In the meantime, let us pay respect to this African American Queen. She has made us proud, she has inspired the many and she is now entitled to a well deserved rest. I wish you sweet Goodbye Mrs Angelou. The ancestors and our Dear God will receive you with all due respect, I have no doubt.

XoXo
